A trombonist with a composer’s ear.
A producer with a performer’s instinct.
Turkish-born and based in Rotterdam, Efe Erdem moves between jazz, funk, soul, pop, theatre and electronic music—as a trombonist, composer, arranger, producer and educator.
Classically trained at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory, he continued his studies at Codarts with Bart van Lier and Ilja Reijngoud, graduating in 2012, followed by postgraduate studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
His work has taken him across Europe, North America, Asia and Africa, to stages including North Sea Jazz, Montreux Jazz Festival and Blue Note Tokyo. Alongside performing and creating his own projects, Efe teaches jazz trombone at Codarts Rotterdam, coaches ensembles and leads workshops.
He is currently writing new music for the next chapter of his solo project.
